Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher seems to not be worried about his RFAs:
They’re good young players and we expect to have them signed and ready to go as soon as we can… Right now, the landscape league-wide is murky, and I think things will start to clear up in the next few weeks. At this point, I’m not concerned. This has been the trend the last few years.” (x)
Fletcher also says that he is “open” to talks with both player about either a bridge or long-term deal. According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, Konecny is expected to get between $4-$4.5 million while Provonov is projected for about $7 million AAV.
The Flyers currently have $13,417,421 in cap space which would fit both player comfortably under their cap. At those numbers, Konecny will probably shoot for a longer term contract while Ivan may go shorter.
Either way, the Flyers need both of these players back in order to hopefully return to the playoffs after missing out last season.
