Welp, here we are, Flyer fans. I had some hope when the Flyers opened with a 0-2 lead in the first 13 minutes of the game but then I said to myself “Hams, this is the Flyers. Don’t give yourself hope.” And good thing I listened.
The Islanders came back and tied it before the end of the 1st period. Then Matt Barzal gave the Isles a 3-2 lead in the second. Gerry Mayhew did give us another hope boost at the start of the 3rd. He scored just 1:30 into the period and the Flyers themselves looked like they had some life. That was until Zach Parise gave the Islanders the 4-3 lead and from there we knew where this was headed.
Flyers lost 4-3 and that puts them at 13 straight losses. Just absolutely embarrassing. You can read one of my other 20 blogs about their team here and through the ‘related’ tag. Instead, I feel like being a masochist/sadist, here’s Nolan Patrick’s through the legs goal from earlier tonight.
