Devils Crush Canucks, Quinn Hughes Has To Buy A Painting, And I Have Suggestions

The Devils just absolutely smacked the Canucks around in a 7-2W and it looks like Quinn Hughes is buying a painting. The Hughes brothers faced off in another game against one another tonight and they put up a little wager, as brothers do. The loser has to buy a painting, we don’t know what painting, for a house the two share. (We’ll get into suggestions/ideas later.)

Well Jack Hughes, star of the Devils and little brother to Quinn, made sure he wasn’t buying that painting. Jack opened the scoring in tonight’s game with a goal just 9:15 into it. The kid does it all on his own and it’s just incredible:

At 15:24, Yegor Sharangovich collected his 13th goal of the season, Jack Hughes collected an assist on this one. Not long after that, Dawson Mercer grabbed another Devils goal this time on the power play, and all of a sudden the Canucks are down 0-3 heading into the second period.

Things did not look up for the Canucks into the second period. Vasily Podkolzin did score the Canucks a goal at 1:36 to at least break the shutout but the Devils quickly followed up with 3 more goals of their own. After that, the Canucks pulled Jaroslav Halak for their starting goaltender Thatcher Demko. Demko stood tall for the Canucks which allowed Tanner Pearson to score but it was still 2-6 Devs before the first 10 minutes of the second period were played.

Despite putting up another thirteen shots in the third period, the Canucks couldn’t get anything more past Devils goaltender Nico Daws. Only one of twelve shots Demko faced in the final frame got past him, from one Dougie Hamilton. Thus this final score was brought to a ghastly 7-2 in favor of the Devils. Instead of sitting here and breaking down how poorly the Canucks played, I’d rather pitch my 3 suggestions/ideas on what this painting could be. To Start:

The infamous George Costanza photo

They’re 22 and 20 years old. Self-explanatory.

A painting of Jack as a king

A bet of “the loser has to buy a painting of the winner as a king” is phenomenal. I am gonna wager that bet against my older brothers in a couple of weeks. I cannot find one of Jack Hughes as a King (I know someone on the internet has had to have made one by now) so we’re using Tom Hiddleston as an example:

Literally any remotely famous painting

I would not put it past them to mention this offhandedly, everyone gets hyped and jokes about it, and then it’s “The Starry Night”. Don’t get me wrong. I love Starry Night but it is probably one of the most well-known paintings known to man and a bleak choice here.

I am hoping we find out what the painting is at some point. I am rooting for King portrait. Even if not, I will be making up a bet and waging that against my brothers just for shits and giggles.
