The Ontario government just announced that they will be allowing people to pack the barnes for Maple Leaf, Senators, and Raptors games this season.
This has been up in the air for a while but it has finally come to fruition. As of tomorrow teams will be allowed full capacity at their games which is just in time for the Toronto Maple Leafs’s home opener this upcoming Wednesday and then the Senators’s home opener with the Leafs on Thursday. Of course proof of vaccine will be required, makes sense.
I thought eventually this was going to happen. Stadiums in the US allow full capacity, Alberta just allowed it, the Vancouver Canucks are the only team without it. Although they are selling tickets to capacity so that’s bound to change soon. Some people are going to love it, some are gonna hate it but I bet the players will be stoked. Last season, US teams got to play in front of fans while Canadian teams’ games were barren until playoffs. Now they’ll get their fans back and that really changes the energy in the buildings.
