Daily Reminder: Erik Johnson Is A Stanley Cup Champion

This entire blog is going to be Erik Johnson celebrating winning the Stanley Cup. This guy waited 14 long seasons for this moment. He, so far, has played in 857 regular-season games with 48 playoff games, he was a first overall draft pick that saw his fair share of struggles through all those games. This time last season he was thinking his career was over. After missing pretty much all of last season with another long-term injury, he came back to the game with renewed energy.

That energy propelled him through 77 games and 25 points (8G 17A) while he was helping lead the Avs through a 56-19-7 season. He then played through all 20 playoff games the Avalanche played in order to win this Cup. He had 5 points (1 goal and 4 assists). He averaged 17:01 of ice time in those games, registered 79 hits, 29 blocked shots, and a 51% Corsi For.

So without further ado, here is a man living out his dream:

Give me an Erik Johnson cam the entire parade. I’m so happy for him.
