Patrick Marleau? In San Jose? Nooooo, I can’t believe it! Who would have thought!
Of course Patty wasn’t gonna stay out east in Pittsburgh, the man is coming home after playing 12 games with the Pens – along with 1 goal and 1 assist. He’s signed to a one year deal with the Sharks worth $700,000, according to Pierre LeBrun.
Marleau has played 1,728 of his 1,918 career (regular and postseason) games in San Jose. The man is still chasing his first Cup, along with teammate Joe Thornton. Neither of them is retiring until they lift that Cup and I think at this point, they both realize that it’s a better chance if they’re on the same team. That or it’s a “keep your friends close and your enemies closer situation.”
Regardless these guys are gonna keep signing one year deals until their careers outlive me.
