It’s Pride Month and I wanna talk about Braden Holtby.
Braden Holtby is the One True Ally of the LGBT+ Community. Holtby has been in the Washington Pride multiple times and just recently walked in the Washington DC Pride. He even hopped out and talked to fans in the crowd, stopped to take pictures, and was overall just friendly to fans in the crowd.
In the past Holtby has been recognized multiple times for being an amazing ally to the community. Holtby was apart of Washington’s Pride Parade in 2016 and 2017 as well. He’s was awarded the DC Pride Ally Award in 2017 and gave a speech at the 2018 Human Rights Campaign National Dinner.
At the 2019 Washington DC Pride Parade, Holtby said:
“There shouldn’t be a time in today’s world where you should be hidden away and not be able to be yourself.”
“Even if you can change one or two lives, it’s worth it. Hopefully, we can do that.”
Holtby is a genuine Ally and I adore him so much. His promotion of acceptance means the world to the LGBT fans of the NHL. We’re in love with a sport and sometimes it’s hard to find that acceptance.
So thank you Branden Holtby and all that you do for LGBT fans.
