Matthew Tkachuk Only Knows How To Score Goals And Make Enemies

Ahh, classic Matthew vs Mathieu. In an absolute bloodbath between the Nashville Predators and Calgary Flames, Matthew Tkachuk continued to make friends all around the NHL. This time, at the end of the first period, during which there were two separate fights and eleven penalties, the Flames and some Preds stuck around the benches and continued chirping each other. Matthew Tkachuk pulled out a hilarious move. He motions over at Mathieu Olivier, a Preds winger, and Tkachuk asks him if he wants a signed stick from him. He even asks the trainer behind the bench for a marker:

If there’s one guy on that ice that knows how to out-pest any pest, it’s Matthew Tkachuk. I’d love to see more of him vs Marchand. That’s not all Tkachuk was up to in this game. He was cheering from the penalty box at one point:

Then, the clapper of it all. Who else but Matty T to score a game-tying goal with 0.1 second left on the clock?! That’s right. Tkachuk sneaks one past Pred’s goaltender David Rittich, who was in the game for 6 minutes total:

The Flames went on to win it with a goal from Elias Lindholm just 2 minutes into OT. They get another win and Nashville leaves with 1 point. I only note that because that shakes up the Dallas Stars playoff race. The Flames don’t have to worry about any of that through, they already won the Pacific. Matthew Tkachuk knows how to make things interesting and it’s one reason I like him so much. He’s a pest who will throw the gloves and light the lamp. It’s what he lives for. He finished the game with a goal, 4 PIMs, 4 shots on goal, and 4 hits in 16:44 in ice time. He’s now got 41 goals on the season, 102 points total. This year has been incredible for him and I’m excited to see him keep up these antics into the playoffs.
