The Pittsburgh Penguins got drilled by the New Jersey Devils earlier tonight in a game that ended 6-1 in favor of the Devils. Jesper Bratt had 2 goals, Yegor Sharangovich, Dawson Mercer, Damon Severson, and captain Nico Hischier all put in one goal of their own to total it to 6. The goal I am going to talk about, however, is the incredible goal scored by Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby. The Penguins were already down 4-0 in the middle of the second period when they were awarded a power play. If possible, Malkin should have picked up the second assist for this one. Watch this:
We’ve all had the pleasure of witnessing Crosby and Malkin’s combined greatness for the last 16 years. We’ve seen them do the impossible side by side from their early 20’s now into their mid-30s. The fact that these two have continued to just kick ass and keep setting up highlight-reel goals is incredible. Whether it’s a Stanley Cup Final or a random Thursday night game, you know Crosby and Malkin will set up something big.
