The Stars At Night Are Big And Bright

The Dallas Stars are back baby. After missing their first few games of the season due to a ‘Rona outbreak, the Stars played their first game tonight and they absolutely crushed it.

The Stars shutout the Preds in a 7-0 victory that left me with goosebumps. I was nervous about this first game. It had been 114 days since they last played, they are without some of their top guys, that’s very nerve wracking. Not to mention the Stars can absolutely flounder even at full strength. Well, tonight they didn’t do that. They were shining bright.

The Stars had 7 goals from 5 different players: Radulov (2), Pavelski (2), Gurianov, Klingberg, and Lindell. An NHL Debut for Ty Dellandrea. They converted on 5 out of 8 power plays and killed ever PK. Goalie and national superstar Anton Khudobin stopped 34 shots on net and scooped his 100th career win. AMAZING start to their season. This is exactly how the Stars needed to get going.

The biggest loss in this game though is the potential injury to Captain Jamie Benn. Y’all already know that I loooove Benn but it’s also clear how important he is to this team, on the ice and in the locker room. There was no certain words on Benn’s injury post game but if he needs a knee or a leg, he can have one of mine, I don’t really need mine.

The Stars play again on Sunday at 7, once again against the Preds. They need to keep the momentum going from here. No 1-7-1 again, not after how last season went. Keep that Redemption/Spite Tour going boys.
