That’s about all I’m feeling right now. The Colorado Avalanche fell in Game five of the Stanley Cup Final with a 3-2 final. They played a good game. They outshot the Lightning all game, finished with 37 shots to the Lightnings’ 29. They just couldn’t keep the puck in their zone and any chance they got the puck their shots went wide or Vasilevskiy was right there.
Darcy Kuemper had another great performance. He stopped 26 of the 29 shots he faced and not all those goals were on him. Val Nichushkin had another great game, he finished the night with a goal and an assist, 5 shots on net, 3 hits, and 20:38 of ice time. He was due for a big one and he delivered. Cale Makar battled in this game as well. He played 28:09 and put up a goal and an assist as well as 5 shots on goal, and 6 hits. They’re now heading back down to Tampa for Game six, which is something I was hoping we’d avoid. The Avalanche need to go into this next game with a do-or-die attitude. They do not want to give the Lightning any advantage at all and letting them get a win at home will be deadly. This has been one of the most emotionally exhausting days of my life and I was praying for an Avs win. Now I will be getting indescribably high and going to bed. Goodnight. Go Avs go.
