Rangers Force A Game Seven Out East

The New York Rangers dominated their do-or-die Game 6 against the Carolina Hurricanes today. The Rangers ended up winning this one 5-2 to get us Game 7 on Monday night in Carolina. Filip Chytil was the Rangers’ golden boy tonight as he scored two goals in the second period to keep them in firm control of this one.

They put up a great battle to save their playoff hopes. Although the Hurricanes put up a fight in the second period, Chytil kept the Rangers right in the driver’s seat. Which was something they needed in a penalty ridden third period. They played it cool and confident in the final frame with an additional goal from Artemi Panarin to catapult the Rangers to a Sudden Death Game 7.

Igor Shesterkin did phenomenal in Game 6, he stopped 37 of the 39 shots he faced. Adam Fox stepped up big time with 26:03 of ice time and 2 assists to boot. All around, the Rangers banded together and kept fighting. I think they’ll be able to come out as the underdogs in Game 7. They’ve got the momentum to keep them afloat into Game 7. The blood is boiled between these two, they’re fighting for the Eastern Conference Final – which both teams have not visited in a while. Game 7 will be a blood bath but I am very excited to see who will be facing the Lightning in the next round.
