Last night’s Battle of Alberta did not disappoint for a second. With a final score of 9-6 in favor of the Calgary Flames, the game itself had a lot more than silky smooth goals. As per usual when it comes to the Alberta Showdown, we had some good skirmishes. One happened between Matthew Tkachuk and Evander Kane. Well, Matthew really reminded the world of what a rat king he is. While Kane and Tkachuk were chirping one another Matthew started asking Kane if he needed some money:
Then when they were in the box, Matthew kept calling Kane a “poor bastard” and it stuck in my brain from the second I saw it. Calling someone a “poor bastard” is incredible. Not to mention, Tkachuk is on the nose with that one.
Not to mention, Matthew Tkachuk left the box and then put up two more goals to get his first career hat trick. You just can’t beat the guy. He played phenomenal last night, 3 goals and was stirring the pot up nicely. Not to mention he called Evander Kane a poor bastard- he’s right, we all know he’s right. What a night for the Tkachuk family.
We got Brady Tkachuk, Matthew’s younger brother who happens to be Captain of the Senators and a great dude, squaring up to win the Brother of the Year Award. I also think he’s aiming to beat the Summer of Ovi:
Then, after Matthew’s hat trick last night, his dad, Keith Tkachuk refused to throw his lucky hat on the ice:
Every Battle of Alberta stream needs to have a Brady cam that incorporates a beer counter. Absolutely legendary week for the Tkachuks.
