Joe Pavelski Is Staying In Dallas For Another Season!

Via Tenor

Couldn’t have asked for better news to take us into the weekend. Joe Pavelski, Captain America himself, will be staying in Dallas for another season. The 37-year-old center has signed a one-year extension with the Dallas Stars for $5.5 million dollars and another half mill in performance bonuses.

Pavelski came to the Stars 3 seasons ago as a massive free-agent signing after spending 13 years with the San Jose Sharks. Since coming to Dallas, Pavelski has done nothing but add to this roster. In 179 games as a Star, he’s got 141 points (61G 80A). This season especially has been great to him. He’s got 59 points (22G 37A) in 56 games played. He has not slowed down even a little bit, he is one of the most reliable and likable guys in the Stars’s locker room. He’s such an inspirational guy, went 205th overall in the 2003 draft, and now, with 16 NHL seasons under his belt, he’s one of the best players I think the league has seen. I’m thrilled he’s staying in Dallas, I wish they signed him for another 5 years honestly.

As this team tries to break out of the “good-but-not-Cup-winning-good” bracket they’ve been stuck in, he’ll be one of the key parts to that. I’m excited for more Pavelski and I’m sure tomorrow night he’ll find some way to score a clutch goal against the Rangers.
