Jason Robertson Has Hat Tricks In Back-To-Back Games!

It’s been two days since I told you Jason Robertson‘s incredible hat trick in his 100th NHL game. Well, guess what? The kid just did it again. The Stars took on the Wild earlier today and Jason Robertson recorded 3 goals in 19:33 of ice time.

Robertson’s first goal came early in the 2nd period with Dallas on the power play. That goal gave Dallas the lead, here’s a look at it:

Riley Tufte, a Minnesota native who was heartbreakingly scratched the last time Dallas played in Minnesota, came back to score his first NHL goal in his hometown and strengthen Dallas’s lead. I blogged more about that here.

Robertson came right back with his second goal 6 minutes after Tufte’s to give Dallas a 4-1 lead with 10 to go in the 2nd. Robertson and Roope Hintz connected for that beauty of a goal to pour some fuel on the fire.

The Wild came back in the 3rd to make things interesting. They got within one because of Kirill the Thrill Kaprizov’s two back-to-back goals late in the third. They pulled their goaltender and Jamie Benn scored an empty-net goal to put the Stars back on a two-goal lead. Alas, Minnesota didn’t learn from that mistake. They kept the goalie out in the dying seconds of the third and Jason Robertson got that allusive 3rd goal to complete the hatty. And that’s not all. That 3rd goal was his 100th NHL point in his 101st NHL game! What?!

This kid is a certified rockstar. He’s the first guy to have back-to-back hattys in Dallas Stars history and he’s just 101 games into his NHL career. I hope he hat tricks his hat trick. Dallas plays the Predators on Tuesday night and if the Stars align (pun intended) then maybe Robertson can have a hat trick of hat tricks. That’s a thing right?
