Frederik Andersen, Ex-Longtime Maple Leaf, Gets Some Revenge On Boston

Who doesn’t love some revenge after years of scored rivalries? I know I do.

Tonight, the Boston Bruins were defeated by the Carolina Hurricanes 6-0. Despite the Bruins’ best efforts to get a shot past Freddie Andersen, the ex-Maple Leaf, and they just couldn’t do it. Andersen stopped all 34 shots he faced tonight and this isn’t the first time he’s smacked around Boston since leaving Toronto. Check it out:

Freddie took 2 steps out of Toronto and remembered how to beat the Bruins.

Andersen was the starting goaltender in all 3 games the Hurricanes have played against the Bruins this season. Two of those games were shutouts while in the other, he only allowed 1 goal. He even registered an assist on Nino Niederreiter’s power play goal in the Hurricanes 3-0 victory over Boston on October 28th.

Freddie has been having a great season with the Hurricanes. He’s currently 25-6-1 with a 2.01 GAA and .930 save percentage. He deserves it after the last few painful seasons in Toronto. Plus, who doesn’t love a little revenge.
