Timo Meier Gets A Casual 5 Goals Against Kings

Hooooly Timo Meier turned on the jets for this one. Within 3 minutes of puck drop, Meier was off to the races. He scooped his first goal of the afternoon on the power play just 3:02 into the game.

It took him 15 minutes to score the second goal but he quickly followed that up with the hatty confirming 3rd goal only 21 seconds later!

And that was all before the end of the first period!

Meier did not wait a single second to get things going into the second period. On another Sharks power play, Meier got his 4th goal just 1:24 into the period on a snipe.

The 5th and final goal did not come around until the dying seconds of the second. That goal set 2 records. One, Timo became the first Shark ever to score 5 goals in one game. Two, it tallied to Erik Karlsson’s 500th career assist.

5 goals in 6 shots on net with just 18:24 of ice time. Incredible. Obviously, Sharks win 6-2 against the Kings – the only other Sharks goal coming from Rudolfs Balcers in the early 1st period. It was definitely not the start I was expecting from the Sharks on a random day game. Maybe the Sharks have to play more afternoon games if it gets their guys going like this.
