Marc-Andre Fleury does it again. The goaltender just celebrated his 500th win on December 9th. Now, he has captured his 70th career shutout in a 3-0 win against the Anaheim Ducks. That number is absolutely bananas when you think about it.
He’s been the leader for Shutouts among active players for a while but this just furthers the gap between him and Jonathan Quick, who is in 2nd. In the Career leaderboard, he still sits in 14th but he’s just one away from tying Lorne Chabot and Harry Lumley in 12th. I think that by the end of this season, he’ll get there.
70th just seems like an unfathomable number. He grabbed that win with 37 saves in tonight’s game. He was working absolute magic to get some of these pucks. Watch this one from the mid-2nd:
A great night for Marc-Andre, a great night for the Blackhawks overall. This is their 4th win in a row, they got Hagel back on the ice and back to scoring. They did good tonight against the Ducks, who have been running warm recently. They face Seattle next so I think things are looking pretty good for them to push this win-streak to 5.
