Happy birthday to the Demigod himself, Marian Hossa.
Hossa turned 43 today, January 12th. The Hoss man was a legend in the NHL during his 19-year career. He played in 1,309 NHL games with 1,134 points (525G 609A), including 205 playoff games with 149 points (52G 97A) resulting in 3 Stanley Cups. Hossa spent 8 of those years in Chicago, which is where I know him most from. Hossa was a massive fan favorite in Chicago both on and off the ice.
His retirement, how it happened, sucked so much. He deserved to go on and win another Cup. Nevertheless, he was a great player who is now a Hall of Famer, and rightfully so. I wish he got to hang out in the hockey world a little more but I’m sure he’s enjoying retirement in the Czech Republic with his family. Happy Birthday, Hossa!
