Due to Canada’s National Women’s Team having several players and staff in COVID protocol, USA Hockey and Hockey Canada have decided to cancel the remaining games in the Rivalry Series. These games were supposed to take place in Red Deer and Edmonton, Alberta on January 3rd and 6th. And as you can tell because Hockey Canada has COVID and because the Olympics are right around the corner, both parties decided to cancel these games.
It sucks, they have to do it if they want their teams to go to the Olympics, I know, I know but I am still bummed out. It’s not even 2022 yet and the things I was looking forward to are getting canceled because of COVID. So Re all these emotions:

This, by default, leaves Canada the winners of this year’s Rivalry Series as they won 4 of 6 games. Their last one was December 17th and it ended with a 3-2 Canada win in OT. I’m sad we’ll have no more of it but hopefully, this keeps both teams healthy so we can see them face off at the Olympics.
