Marc-Andre Fleury Captures 500th Win Against Canadiens

The legend of Flower continues to grow.

The third man to ever do it, Marc-Andre Fleury has collected his 500th career win in a shutout against the Montreal Canadiens. Alongside this accomplishment, this 37-year-old goaltender has 3 Stanley Cups, one Jennings Trophy, and One Vezina to his name, earned throughout his 18-year career in the NHL.

Fleury had 375-wins in his 13 seasons spent in Pittsburgh. He then had another 177 wins in his 4 years with Vegas. That left him with just 8 more wins needed to get to 500. And tonight, in his home province of Quebec, against his favorite team growing up, he captured that 500 in a shutout against the Montreal Canadiens.

And despite their team losing, Montreal embraced Marc-Andre as one of their own. In the dying minutes of the game, the crowd chanted “Fleury, Fleury, Fleury” as the clock ran down. I’m not gonna lie, I was tearing up as this went down:

No guy deserves this win more than Marc-Andre. The guy seems like a genuinely great, funny, and lovely human being and I am so happy he’s a Hawk this season. I can’t wait to see what feat he accomplishes next. Congrats, Flower!
