The Montreal Canadiens fell to the Tampa Bay Lightning for the second game of the Stanley Cup Final. This game was similar to Game 1. The first period was scoreless but the Lightning turned it on in the second. They got one 6 minutes in to the period. Fear not, Nick Suzuki was able to get one for Montreal on the power play 4 minutes later. Sadly, the Habs wouldn’t hold it because Blake Coleman scored a buzzer beater at the end of the second.
The Habs never got their mojo back to get even again. The Lightning struck again to settle the score at 3-1. The Habs really need to tighter up on puck possession. The hits kept coming like last game, this game finished with 76 hits – 40 from Tampa and 36 from the Habs. There is still time for them to take back this series but they need to do it quick. Next game is in Montreal so hopefully that will boost their moral. Hometown crowds can do wonders. Go Habs Go, baby
