Islanders in 7. A miraculous comeback for the New York Islanders forces a Game 7 in the East.
I have gone on and on about how much I want the Islanders to win and that might just happen. The New York Islanders came back from a 2-0 deficit against the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight to force a Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Semi-Finals. The game was siding towards Tampa early. The Lightning were up 2-1 by 12 minutes into the second period. They had control, they were playing strong but the Islanders refused to give up. They were scrappy and relentless and that paid off for them. Jordan Eberle scored just 2 minutes after Tampa’s second to break the tie.
Then, 11:16 into the third, Scott Mayfield scored an electric goal for the Islanders to tie this bad boy up.
Wicked shot to save your team’s season. This one wasn’t closed out in the final 9 minutes, we needed some OT. Not much because who else but Mr. Anthony Beauvillier to save the Islanders. Just 1:08 into OT, Beauvillier scored a nasty one to get us to Game 7.
Game 7, who knew. I am still hellbent on the Islanders to close this out. I will be flying into NYC by puck drop and I want more than anything to celebrate this team advancing on. The Islanders have done so well against Tampa, it’s just right that they close this out in Tampa Bay. I think they did great tonight, they just need to keep it going. Get in, shut them down, and get that bid to the Finals.
The celly: electric. This team: electric. Can’t wait for Friday night.
