Oiler Lose A Game They Were Winning 4-1

(off-topic but they didn’t update it to say OT)

This just sums up Edmonton.

The Oilers were down 2-0 in their series with Winnipeg headed into tonight’s game. By the end of the first though, it seemed like things were looking up. The Oiler’s top guys woke up early. Leon Draisaitl started up with 2 goals, back-to-back. Connor McDavid and Draisaitl had 0 points going into tonight’s game, most of the Oilers roster did. After such a dominant season it was weird how silent they were on the score sheet. So when they started tonight hot with McDavid getting 3 assists and Draisaitl with the two goals it was like “okay, maybe they’re back on track”.

Ha ha ha, haha, this is why I cannot gamble.

5 minutes into the 3rd period, the Oilers were sitting pretty with a 4-1 lead.

Then Mathieu Perreault scored.

Then Blake Wheeler

Then Josh Morrissey 24 seconds after Wheeler…..

Aaaaaaaaand it’s 4-4 with 5 remaining in the game. To close this little story out, Nikolaj Ehlers hit the final nail in the coffin 9:13 into OT and Winnipeg is leading the series 3-0.

I think this whole game sums up Edmonton pretty well. They can play really well and then find some way to shoot themselves in the ankles. Game 4 is tomorrow, May 24th, at 8:45PM CT. I honestly have no idea what is going to happen but I don’t think we’ll be seeing a Game 5.
