The Dallas Stars can’t really buy a win right now but if you’re not keeping an eye on Jason Robertson, you’re a buffoon. Drafted 39th overall in the 2nd round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Jason Robertson has been lights out in Dallas. In his 36 games played this season, Robertson has 28 points (12G 16A) while averaging 16:10 minutes on the ice per game and riding a +10 rating. Mix in his 11 blocked shots, 12 hits, and 12 takeaways, this kid is doing more than alright in his first NHL season.
Robertson cannot be stopped. He has had put up 25 points in his first 33 games, a relentless pace for any 21 year old. He is leading the Centeral in rookie scoring, 2nd in the NHL only to Kaprizov in Minnesota. Just the other day, the kid had his first 2 goal game against Florida in just 15:16 minutes played.
This kid has got to be on everyone’s radar as we creep closer and closer to the end of the season and towards awards time. If you don’t seriously consider Robo for the Calder, you’re a buffoon. A schmuck. A numskull. His season has been the biggest highlight in Dallas’s lackluster play as of late and I have absolute faith that he’s going to continue to be their shining star. You won’t wanna miss this.
