Today, the NCAA men’s Frozen Four went down and after some long fought battles, St. Cloud State will be facing UMass in the NCAA Championship Saturday night.
First, St. Cloud beat out Minnesota State 5-4 in an intense game. St. Cloud was down early in the 3rd but they were able to come back and tie the game 4-4. Nolan Walker of St. Cloud scored a last minute goal to secure their place in their first NCAA man’s ice hockey Championship game. Here’s a look at the highlight reels from the game:
Next, UMass beat out Minnesota-Duluth in a game that went to a thrilling OT. 8:25 into the third, Anthony Del Gaizo of UMass tied the game at 2 and it would take until 14:30 into OT for Garrett Wait of UMass to end it with a sneaky little rebound into the net.
Both UMass and St.Cloud are without NCAA Champion titles so whoever wins will be making history. As far as this game goes, I’m taking UMass. They’re a solid team across the board and I want to see them raise that trophy Saturday, puck drop at 6PM CT!
