Dad Goals (And Other Hawks Notes)

The Hawks pulled out a much needed, messy win against the Carolina Hurricanes tonight but the headline I truly care about is Dylan Strome‘s first goal as a dad.

Stromer missed the Hawks game against Nashville on the 28th because his daughter, Weslie Margaret Strome, was born! She’s an adorable little baby, congrats to Dylan and Tayler!

Strome has some magic in big games. He scored in his first game of the year, his first game back from concussion protocol, and his first game as a dad. Love that for him.

The alternate title for this blog was “Otters For Life” because the only two Hawks to have a goal in this 2-1 beating of the Hurricanes was Alex DeBrincat and Strome– both ex-Erie Otters. Brinksy combine with Patrick Kane for a sick little goal just about 4 minutes after Strome’s. Check it out:

Once again, this game was rough for the Hawks but the win was needed. They only had 16 shots on net, they offense was basically limited to the second period, but they kept Carolina at bay. They’re lucky Kevin Lankinen was able to make those 31 saves, the kid has been electric for us so far. Now, they’ll just have to do ti again against Carolina on Thursday, April 1st.
