Alexa play “In The End” by Linkin Park.
The Minnesota Whitecaps have fallen in the Isobel Cup Final to the Boston Pride. Things started off great for the Whitecaps as they exited the first period up 1-0 thanks to Allie Thunstrom.
The second period absolutely killed the Whitecaps confidence. The Pride came back and scored 3 goals to put the score at 3-1. First, they scored one 2:41 into the period and the two remained tied for another 13 minutes. That was until the Pride scored quick back-to-back goals at 15:05 and 17:31 to end the period.
Third period goals were imperative if the Caps wanted a chance at the Cup.
As you can tell things did not go our way.
The Whitecaps got the game within one with a goal from Allie Thunstrom. But then Taylor Wenczkowski of the Pride put them up 4-2. The Whitecaps did get one more with just 19 seconds left to make the score 4-3 but that was too little too late.
This was a hell of a season for the NWHL. Such a season of growth and success and a fantastic finale. The Selander vs Leveille match up was spectacular to watch. I am sad that this season has come to an end and my team was on the losing end of the stick but regardless, I loved this season for the league.
Now if you excuse me, I’m going to crush a sad beer.
