Hold onto your hats, people. The Anaheim Ducks have finally called up Trevor Zegras–the 19-year-old who just won Gold (and MVP) with Team USA at the World Juniors and has been lighting up the AHL. At the beginning of the month, he was named the AHL Player of the Week following the 5 points (2G 3A) he put up in his first 2 games. Now after his first 8 games, Zegras has put up a total of 9 points (4G 5A).
Zegras has been out of this World to start his pro career, it’s a no-brainier that he’s been called up. If he actually plays tomorrow, he’ll be amazing for this Ducks team. The Ducks are 6-9-3 so far this season and they’re 8th in the West. Any kind of jolt they can get, they desperately need. The Ducks will play the Coyotes (7-7-3) at 8PM CT tomorrow and here’s hoping Zegras is actually in the lineup. He’s just been called up, could be precautionary, but I hope he’s in this one. This kid is ready for the show and I can’t wait to watch him play with the big dogs.
