Powerful Second Period Proves The Wolverines Are Back

Michigan is back baby!

Michigan hockey is finally back after their three-week quarantine and they’ve shaken off the rust in the second period against Wisconsin. To start this game, Michigan was shaky. They haven’t been back on the ice that long so I knew it wouldn’t be their best hockey but they contained Wisconsin’s high powered forwards to just one goal. Impressive and a better start than most.

Now into the second, they’re back.

Brendan Brisson got Michigan’s first on the scoresheet in three weeks. That’s Brisson’s 6th goal of the season.

A few moments after that, Matty Beniers put us in the lead with a controversial goal. Wisconsin tried to challenge it for high sticking but that failed. A nice little sick team goal is a great way to get the boys buzzin’.

For the 3 pointer, Eric Ciccolini scooped this one on a rebound. A 3-1 lead is one of the most terrifying leads in hockey– anything can happen here.

Luke Morgan saved us from superstition with an absolute snipe.

There’s still another 20 minutes left in this game but what a great way for Michigan to come back. 4-1 in the first 40, let’s fucking go. They’ve been electric all across the board — goaltending (EXCEPT FOR LEAVING THE FUCKING NET), defense, offense — all of it has been aces. So for the final 20 keep on their asses, shut down the top men, and we’ll be sailin’ high with a W this weekend.
