There is nothing better than the joy of a first NHL goal. And two is better than one.
Just 56 seconds apart, the Blackhawks had two rookies collect their first NHL goals during the second period against Columbus. First, Ian Mitchell scored his first while hanging out in the crease. He was able to snipe it in on a pass from David Kampf. (See Tweet #1 above)
Then Nicolas Beaudin picked up his first when he collected a rebound from the board and slid it right past Joonas Korpisalo. (See Tweet #2 above) Beautiful goals and an amazing additions to this game. They got us up on the sheet and had rookie Pius Suter help out with one of his own. The Rookies have put on a show and I am loving it. We still have time left on the clock and it’s tied but I’m not a negative Nelly and I’m choosing remember the positives.
