Notre Dame is back baby!
Notre Dame took on Ohio State like a whirlwind to kick off this weekend. They started game one against Ohio with a single goal from Landon Slaggert in the first period. The magic began in the 2nd period, they heated things up a notch with 4 goals in those 20 minutes.
The Steeves brothers, Matt and Alex, both had a goal in this game with Notre Dame’s #2 and #3 on the sheet. Check those goals out here:
Then Jesse Lansdell came in with a dirty lil drive to the net for a 4-1 Irish lead.
To cap off the second period, Landon Slaggert snuck in his second of the game on a power play goal with 50 seconds left.
The Irish capped off the 2nd at a 5-1 score and they defended that hard into the 3rd. They came up with another goal from Nick Leivermann to end the game at 6-1 and secure a wonderful start to the weekend. Their goaltending was great, the power play wasn’t completely dead (1 for 5), so not the worst way to start this series. THE Ohio State has been hot this season, for the Irish to come in hard was a crucial start for them. They wanna improve their record and gain some more confidence in the home stretch so this game was big for them.
These two will play one another tomorrow at 12:30 PM CT, it’s bound to be another good one. Be sure to tune in!
