The Toronto Six have their first W in franchise history.
After 2 losses to start their first ever season, they finally grabbed their first win against the Boston Pride. Before their seasons even started, the Pride and Six formed an intense rivalry so what a perfect team for the Six to get their first win against. This rivalry is heated, check this out:
Now a lil recap on this game. Much like that “Miracle” team in the ’80’s, the Six came from behind to win this one. The Pride scored early in the 1st and the Six were kept in this match by their goalie Elaine Chuli. It took until midway through the third for the Six to get it tied up. Brooke Boquist got her first NWHL point with this goal, love to see it:
Then about a minute later, a goal from Mikyla Grant-Mentis gave the Six the lead which they defended until the end of the game.
The Six have been waiting since April for this win so it’s nice to see them get it and celly in their locker room. Even coach Digit Murphy was getting her groove on with the team.
