LFG! The Minnesota Whitecaps are going to have quite a few cardboard fans in their bubble stands starting Saturday. The Whitecaps have announced that they will have players from Minnesota’s major sport teams in the stands of their games. This includes players from the Minnesota Lynx (WNBA), Minnesota Vikings (NFL), Minnesota United FC (MLS), Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA), and the Minnesota Twins (MLB). Some teams will not have their full roster but most will. You can check who in the official statement from the team.
Having the entire state of Minnesota support the Whitecaps is massive. Minnesota is a sports state, I mean look at all the pro teams they have. For them to have the Whitecaps’ back just shows how important this team is to the State of Hockey. Plus, having every team support one another will only do good in the future. So many teams and leagues have been supporting the Riveters or the Pride and trust me I love it, but I was worried about my Cap’s crowd. Ya girl would love to be there but I’ve been unemployed for a year. But fear not, they’re gonna have a packed crowd for this season.
“We have been blown away by the extraordinary support of the Whitecaps by the other teams in Minnesota. It’s difficult to put into words how much it means to all of us. On behalf of everyone in the Whitecaps family, our thanks go out to the Wild, Lynx, United FC, Timberwolves, Twins, and Vikings. Before every game, we will look in the stands and see all of you alongside so many of our fans. It will inspire us to do everything we can to keep the Cup in Minnesota.”
