21 year old Grace Zumwinkle is on a tear this season. Zumwinkle, a senior at the University of Minnesota, has 8 points (7G 1A) in 7 games this season. Just yesterday, she scored the two goals Minnesota needed to beat St. Cloud State with a 2-1 final score. Both goals were bananas.
Zumwinkle is gonna be a superstar.
She has already been insane in college – last season, she had 45 points (25G 20A) in 36 games. She has 2 WJC U-18 gold medals to her name and she was set to go to the 2020 US Women’s World Champs until COVID canceled that one. She has not been drafted to an NWHL team but should she choose continue her hockey career further, I’d love to see her stay in Minnesota with the Whitecaps. She’s got great hands, a sharp mind, and would be fantastic along the likes of Allie Thunstrom. For now, I’m gonna enjoy watching her kick ass at the collegiate level.
