UND’s Captain Jordan Kawaguchi decided he was getting his team out of overtime real quick tonight. Just 8 seconds into the extra period, Kawaguchi took the puck right off the face off, up ice, and into the net. No hesitation, no second guessing.
That goal wasn’t all Kawaguchi had on the night. With an assist earlier in the game, the Captain put himself at 100 career points! Overall, no surprise that he was the one to take the lead and end this game with his 101st collegiate point.
This win puts UND at 5-2-1 this season but they’ve got a few games left until their break. They’re playing as excellent as everyone thought they would with no slowing down in sight. They’ll be back Saturday to face Minnesota-Dulth before they move onto Miami on Sunday. I’ve given up on guessing game results after being shot in the knees by Michigan. Good luck though boys, I’m not* rooting for you.
