LFG! Sarah Fuller, a kicker at Vanderbilt will be making history tomorrow as the first women to dress for a Power Five Football game. Fuller is a senior at Vanderbilt who also plays soccer. There has never been a woman to play for any Power 5 team or play in a Southeastern Conference game. There have been women who have played – Liz Heaston, Katie Hnida, April Goss, and Tonya Butler – but to have Fuller play would be amazing.
“I think it’s amazing and incredible. But I’m also trying to separate that because I know this is a job I need to do and I want to help the team out and I want to do the best that I can. Placing that historical aspect aside just helps me focus in on what I need to do. I don’t want to let them down in anyway.”

Fuller will have “Play Like A Girl” on the back of her helmet. She’ll do a great job if she’s allowed in to assist. Fuller is a talented, multi-sport athlete who is finally getting her chance to shine. Like Fuller said, this is a historic moment and there’s a lot riding on this but nevertheless, there is a game to win.
