Darling, a longtime goaltender for the Chicago Blackhawks, has been given a PTO for the Florida Panthers. Darling is 31-years-old and last played in the NHL back in the 2018-19 season. Last year, Darling played in the EBEL for the HC Innsbruck, where he put up a .898 save percentage in 33 games played.
I love this guy and I’m so happy to see him get another shot. When Darling left Chicago for Carolina, he wrote a letter to the city and talked about what he’d gone through to get there. Quenneville had given him a chance in the Blackhawks net so it’s not surprising to see him and Q meet once more. I hope he kicks ass and we see him back in the league next season.
