Was I aware of the Illinois Hockey Hall of Fame before today? No BUT I am very happy to inform you that Kendall Coyne-Schofield has been inducted into said HoF!
If you’ve been following for a while, then you know I love Kendall and think she’s a total badass who is very deserving of this honor. At just 28 years old, Kendall already has 6 World Champ gold medals (1 silver), 1 Junior World Champ gold (1 silver), 1 Olympic gold medal (and you guessed it, 1 silver) and a NWHL title. Although their site says you have to be retired for at least 5 years, Coyne is still playing with Team USA and the PWHPA.
I’ve said it before but Kendall is one of the greatest hockey players this generation has ever seen. Now she’s in the IHHF alongside other Illinois hockey greats, like friend of the Chiclets pod, Tim Stapleton. Congrats on being inducted, Kendall!
