The Ottawa Senators have signed Alex Galchenyuk to a one-year, $1,050,000 AAV contract. This is the 26-year-old’s 4th team in 3 seasons but I will take no shit-talking and no slander about Alex Galchenyuk.
Back when Alex was in Montreal, he quickly became one of my favorite players and I, for some reason, became protective over him. I still think he has the talent to excel in this league regardless of what other’s say. The kid is relentless and he refuses to give up so I think he can still work his way back up. Sure, 4 teams (Arizons, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, and now Ottawa) in 3 years is rough but give him the chance to do well and he will.
He had 8 goals and 16 assists (24 points) in 59 games this year but this will be a fresh start for him. I think Ottawa is gonna be a team to watch this season. They had plenty of moves in the offseason to improve and I think Brady Tkachuk is gonna have a great season. Don’t count them (or Galchenyuk) out just yet.
