Avalanche Sign Devon Toews On Great Deal

Colorado #Avalanche have settled with Devon Toews on a 4 year contract with an AAV of $4,100,000.

2020-21: $2,350,000
2021-22: $3,550,000
2022-23: $4,600,000
2023-24: $5,900,000

He has yet to play a single game with the Avalanche but Devon Toews is already set on their payroll.

With just 116 NHL games under his belt, the 26-year-old Toews was shipped over the Colorado earlier this off-season. Toews has 46 points (11G 35A) in that time and he’s got a +8 rating. He’ll be a great top defenseman for this team, although they’re already stacked in D. The breakdown on the deal is above and it’s a good fit for the Avs as well. They still have $1,823,614 in cap space to sign their remaning RFAs.

It’s always hard to really guess how someone will fit with a certain lineup before you physically see them match-up but I bet Toews is gonna be great here regardless. The Avalanche are a powerhouse so sprinkling him into the lineup will just be an added bonus.
