Avalanche Bring Back Tyson Jost on Qualifying Offer

The Colorado Avalanche are being back Tyson Jost for another season. Josty signed his qualifying offer of $874,125 and that’s left the Avs with $5,923,614 in cap space to sign their 2 remaining RFAs.

Jost played in 67 games this season with 23 points (8G 15A) while averaging 12:56 ice time per game. In the Bubble Playoffs, he had a single goal in 12 games played.

It wasn’t a great year for him but if things played out as normal, he would have beat his point total from last season. Josty has got a lot to prove in the season coming up, he’s only 21 so he still has time to grow but he will be a RFA once again after. I think if things don’t pan out or he doesn’t step up big time, chances are he could be out of Colorado. I’m not sure if the expansion draft rules would allow but if Jost is RFA or perhaps re-signed already and not protected by the Avs, I could see him getting scooped up by the Seattle Kraken.

I like Jost as a player and he’s a fan favorite over there but if they want to be a high caviler team and someone more consistent comes along- Sakic could sac him.
