Huuuuhhhhhh
Every time I take an afternoon nap, Tyson Barrie ends up on a team I don’t want him on. Let’s rewind – Barrie was traded to Toronto from Colorado (while I was taking a nap) even though I wanted him to stay in Colorado.
Then today, I took a nice long nap and what do you know – the hockey Gods let me down once more.
Well 𝓼 𝓱 𝓲 𝓽
I just said yesterday that I was hoping he’d be headed to Vancouver. They were apparently in the mix this morning, as well as Colorado (excuse me while I cryyyy) but in the end Edmonton won it out. Vancouver was presumably offering him $6 mill but he took less with the oilers and will be making $3.75 mill on a one year deal.
In his season with Toronto, Tyson had 39 points (5G 39A) in 70 games with a 53.8% Corsi For. Now with Tyson signed for $3.75 million and Mike Smith at $1.5 million, the Oilers are under a cap crunch ($732,509 left in cap space) and they’ll probably want to resign Ethan Bear so I think they’ll be making some moves here or there.
Tyson is like Alex Galchenyuk to me – I don’t tolerate slander and I refuse to give up on him no matter how bad the slump so welcome to my tape, guess I’m watching Oilers games next season. Then after that, chances are I’ll be buying a Kraken jersey.
