What a shame.
JK, I love the Avalanche. LET’S GOOOO BABY.
The Avs have dropped the Arizona Coyotes from playoff contention with another solid 7-1 victory over the desert dogs.
The Avalanche came out hot with 6 goals in the first 2 periods. Period 1 saw 2 goals from Nazem Kadri (no shock there) and 1 from Sam Giardi. Then in the 2nd, Nate MacKinnon had 2 goals off the hop with another shot deflected in by Zadorov. Clayton Keller scooped up the Yotes lone goal early in the 3rd but JT Compher wasn’t far behind with the nail in the coffin.
It’s not shocking that this team put up another 7 goal game. If you’ve been remotely paying attention to the Avs (or various other blogs I’ve written about them) then you know how stacked they are. Some days they just can’t be stopped. Also, I’ll book it now that if the Avs win the Cup (knock on wood) Nazem Kadri better win the fucking Conn Smythe because dear LORD has he been electric
Now, they’re going to have to wait and see if they play the Calgary Flames or Dallas Stars. Dallas leads that series 3-2 with Game 6 tomorrow night. I, for one, am a big Stars and Avs fan so the entire time I’m just going to be screaming if that is how things turn out. I’ve had the Avs all season, I know what talent and relentlessness they have. I want the Stars to win it all but I know how they can just up and suck at times.
Avs have a while off before they play again but without a doubt, they’re going to be watching tomorrow’s Stars vs Flames game to see who they’ll be facing off against next round. Who do you think it will be:
