Goodnight Florida, goodnight Nashville, goodnight Pittsburgh, and goodnight Oilers.
Today 4 teams were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Last night, it was Winnipeg who got the boot from the Calgary Flames. Then this morning, the Islander knocked Florida. Nashville got dropped by the Yotes (love to see that one). And poor Sidney Crosby and the Penguins were sent home by the Canadians on the Captain’s birthday.
Now, my Chicago Blackhawks have eliminated the Edmonton Oilers in their own barn. 🙂 Sweeeeet sweeeeet sweet victory.
The Maple Leafs were looking like they’d be shut out at home but they came back from a 3-0 deficit and won the game in OT.
Now we’re waiting on the last game of the night, another elimination game between the Wild and the Canucks. If the Canucks win, the Wild will be sent back to Minnesota empty-handed.
It’s been a field day of elimination as we head into the legit NHL Playoffs. Sure the competition is out there. Both Sidney Crosby and Connor McDavid’s teams were eliminated in the same day and there are a number of wildcards moving on, but that’s what hockey is about! The Leafs looked like this was the end and they came back to push a game 5.
Ya. Love. To. See. It. The chaos playoffs us what I live for. It’s what makes the game what it is. Tomorrow there are more games and more drama, so stay with Ham Sports as we march through it.
