The Carolina Hurricanes have swept the New York Rangers. I, for one, am not shocked.
Outside of a strong goaltending duo, what are the New York Rangers really? They have Artemi Panarin and Mika Zeibanejab to score goals, Henrik Lundqvist and Igor Sheterkin in net but past that, this team doesn’t have a lot of reliable depth- both offensive and defensively.
Here is one reason I wanted the Rangers to not crash and burn:
Hank deserved better.
Anyway, forget about these losers (mostly DeBitchbaby, I like to forget about him the most)-
Let’s focus on the winners!
The Carolina Hurricanes are a team that I forget is so damn good. They’re out of my loop most of the time and I’m always surprised how stacked they are. After watching this series, they;ve made it hard for anyone to forget them.
This team has more depth than probably half the contending teams in this league. Ya got strong young forwards, like Andrei Svechnikov (who is so underrated imo) and Sebastian Aho, solid defensemen, like Jaccob Slavin or Dougie Hamilton, and stonewall goaltending from Petr Mrazek and James Reimer. They’re a team with talent and skill that runs deep so I’m not surprised that they swept the 2D Rangers’ roster.
As for the Canes future, we’re going to have to wait and see who they take on next. With their performance so far, I’m not too worried about their chances to go further.
