The definition of an underdog, Markov was drafted in the 6th round by the Montreal Canadiens back in 1998. He went on to play 16 seasons in the NHL before finishing his career in the KHL.
In his 16 seasons in the NHL, Markov had 119 goals and 453 assists for 572 points. During the playoffs, he played in 89 games with 5 goals and 27 assists for 32 playoff points. After 2017, Markov headed over to the KHL where he played 127 games with 8 goals and 46 assists for 54 points.
He’s had a fantastic career. I remember him being on the Canadiens when I started to get into their team. Congrats on an amazing career Markov!
