It’s been a month since James Neal played for the Oilers but they’re getting him back on the ice tonight. Neal was having a hot streak before his injury, in the 10 games prior he had 6 points (3G 3A). So far in 50 games, he had 20 points (19G 10A). In the 63 games he played last season, Neal had 19 points (7G 12A).
With the tear that Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid are on, this team is going to be so much more dangerous with Neal back. The Oilers have a 50.2% Corsi for with Neal on the ice, throw Draisaitl and McDavid into that mix and damn.
The Oilers take on the Dallas Stars tonight. Although the Stars are on a two-game losing streak, they’re still a dangerous team when they’re on. This will be a real test to see if Neal is ready to be back.
