Team Canada Beat Team USA In the Elite Women’s 3-on-3 But I’ll Take the L

Team USA might have lost the game against Team Canada in a 2-1 defeat but I’ll take the L on this one because that game was so good.

Ann-Renee Desbiens was the clear 1st Star of this game. Desbiens had stopped 18 of 19 shots on goal from Team USA. She was absolutely electric, even stopping a shot with 1 second to go in the game.

Rebecca Johnston put up the first goal of the game. Her goal was the first goal scored by a woman during the NHL All-Star Weekend (yes, I’m emotional about it).

Melodie Daoust had the 2nd goal for Team Canada with this sneaky little shot.

Hilary Knight picked up the lone goal for the US but in very Knight style, she had a sick goal that slipped past Desbiens in the mid2nd half.

This game was just amazing. It reminded me of when I saw the Dream Gap Tour live. There is so much passion and determination to prove their game that it just blows you away. I know I say it a lot but this game was huge for women’s hockey!

Now the eyes of the world have seen their game and how much talent there is. Hopefully, people will finally wake up and care about building a league for the women that will last for a long, long time.
