Big NWHL Games This Weekend: Don’t Miss Them!

This NWHL season has been a roller coaster but it feels like this is what all of the drama has been building to.

This weekend the Boston Pride will play the Minnesota Whitecaps and it is going to be a good one. The first game will be played on Saturday, January 25th at 6PM CT, so if you don’t feel like watching some boring All-Star game, feel free to check out this high stakes game on Twitch. Their 2nd of the back to back will be Sunday the 26th (the next day) at 1PM CT, also on Twitch.

The Pride are 19-0-0 this season and fighting to keep that run going. They are +65 in goals and are being led by Jillian Dempsey with 32 points (13G 19A) in 19 games so far. Here is just a taste of how skilled this team is:

Meanwhile, the Whitecaps have won their last 4 in a row and lighting up the opposition with goals, leaving them with a +24 goal differential in those 4 games. The Whitecaps are led by Allie Thunstrom (16G 7A) and Jonna Curtis (10G 13A) who have 23 points apiece. Here is a highlight from their last game:

Both goaltending duos have been outstanding. Whitecaps’ goaltenders Amanda Leveille and Allie Morse have faced 557 shots combined and only allowed 36 goals. Leveille, who I’ve sung the praises of, has been their primary goalie and taken the majority of the shots. The Prides’ goalies, Lovisa Selander and Victoria Hanson have faced 519 shots combined and only allowed 36 goals allowed.

Now, in the home stretch of games to the playoffs, this is when the race really heats up.

After the back-to-back against the Whitecaps this weekend, the Pride only have 3 games remaining. The Whitecaps have 4 more games after their 2 this weekend. Don’t miss out on these big games. You can watch the games on the NWHL’s Twitch channels both days. These are two greatly skilled teams with a lot on the line so if you haven’t watched an NWHL game before or want to jump in, this is a great time to.
